Q: Who Is Enid?
A: Enid Records is the brainchild of musician and producer Lascelle Gordon. Together wth selected friends he composes and writes an eclectic mix of contemporary jazz and avant garde music.
His projects include Vibration Black Finger, Jazz Is The Teacher, Funk is The Preacher, Woven Entity and Flight.
Q: Explain your involvement.
A: We have been involved designing and art directing Enid since it was formed seven years ago. The logo is a silhouette of Lascelle's grandmother, Enid. Lascelle has a fascination with African art and tribal patterns and so it was an easy decision to use this as the basis for all graphic design projects. Mixing the earthy, textural and colourful shapes of Africa art with clean modern design has resulted in a memorable explosion of colour and design.
Q: Who was responsible for the photography?
A: We were lucky to be invited to watch the band rehearse and play live and this is how we were able to get these fantastic experimental shots of band member Andy Knight, Maggie Nicols, Tom Page, Frank Byng and Simon Bartholemew.
